Masonicare Rings in the New Year with the Acquisition of Atria Greenridge Place and Formalized Merger with United Methodist Homes

Wallingford, CT — January 2, 2025 – Masonicare, Connecticut’s largest not-for-profit senior living and healthcare provider, is celebrating two major milestones: the acquisition of Atria Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill and a formal merger with United Methodist Homes (UMH), which operates communities in Shelton, Farmington, and Newington. These initiatives represent a major step in expanding Masonicare’s reach while reinforcing its dedication to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to seniors across Connecticut.

The merger positions United Methodist Homes, a 150-year time-honored organization, under the Masonicare brand, unifying the organizations under a shared identity that enhances service quality and extends access to Masonicare’s comprehensive continuum of care. The alignment of these two legacy organizations further supports Masonicare’s commitment to the delivery of best-in-class, relationship-centered, senior care and services.

David Lawlor, President and CEO of United Methodist Homes, expressed enthusiasm for the merger, stating, “Our alignment with Masonicare is an exciting opportunity to extend our mission and ensure that our residents benefit from both UMH and Masonicare’s renowned expertise in senior living and healthcare services. Under the Masonicare name, we represent a collective 280 years of excellence and a shared commitment to the highest standards of care.”

Atria Greenridge Place
The acquisition of Atria Greenridge Place, now operating as Masonicare at Greenridge Place, marks another pivotal step in Masonicare’s mission to provide exceptional care for older adults. Under Masonicare’s ownership and management, the 108-unit assisted living and memory care community brings new opportunities to serve Connecticut seniors.

By incorporating Greenridge Place into its portfolio, Masonicare extends its geographical reach and deepens its commitment to high-quality, personalized care. Residents of Masonicare at Greenridge Place will benefit from the organization’s holistic approach, including integrated healthcare services, memory care, and wellness programs. This addition enhances Masonicare’s standing as a trusted leader in senior living, offering expanded options for individuals and families seeking a welcoming environment where residents can thrive.

“Masonicare is thrilled to welcome United Methodist Homes and Greenridge Place to our family,” said Jon-Paul Venoit, President and CEO of Masonicare. “By uniting under the Masonicare name, we strengthen our commitment to accessible, high-quality care for Connecticut seniors, leveraging the combined resources and expertise of two mission-driven organizations.”

These significant developments underscore Masonicare’s steadfast dedication to meeting the evolving needs of Connecticut’s senior population with care that prioritizes dignity, respect, and well-being.
