Providing an outstanding patient experience

"KUDOS" means praise for a job well done!  It comes from the Greek word for "honor" or "glory."  We are happy to share some of the KUDOS Masonicare employees have received for their outstanding work.

From the son of a Pond Ridge resident:

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Masonicare– with the emphasis on the CARE you give to your residents at Pond Ridge Assisted Living.  It is such a welcoming place.   As my mom has needed more and more assistance, all of the nurses and aides have risen to the occasion.  They are meticulous about the care of her room and clothes; her bathing; her choice of outfits; and checking to see if she is snug in bed three times per night.  The beautician, the activities staff, and the large kitchen staff all work together to promote the residents' well-being.  I cannot say enough… Pond Ridge is like a beautiful hotel with all the amenities-- and everybody knows your name!"

From the son of a Short-Stay Rehab patient:

"My father stayed for 2 weeks of rehab.  In the past 5 years, he has been at numerous facilities in the area.  Every time he came home, the feeling was always that he was not 100% and would have to go back at some point.  I have to state that since he came home from Masonicare that feeling is gone.  Throughout his stay at Masonicare, he received top of the line treatment and rehab.  I am grateful and astonished by the care he received from the entire staff.  He could be difficult and demanding, particularly on the night shift.  The nurses and aides were more than patient in caring to his needs and I am very grateful for this.  I can honestly state that I will never place my father in the care of anybody except Masonicare."

From the son and daughter-in-law of a patient and resident:

"We have had the pleasure of interacting with a great many of the Masonicare staff… those in Assisted Living, Rehab, Hospital, and Long-Term Care.   No matter what their particular specialty nor what position they held– lobby receptionist, volunteer, admission staff, aide, nurse, doctor, social worker, chaplain, therapist, maintenance or food service staff- we have been endlessly impressed with their professionalism and compassion.  We cannot thank all of you enough for the care given to our mother and for including us in your Masonicare family.  It made a huge difference in her life and in ours."

From the son of a Memory Care resident:

"My mother started many years ago at the Johnson Apartments and after several years she needed Memory Care.  The staff on the unit was wonderful and, frankly, I learned a lot about Alzheimer's disease and how to cope with difficult situations (and how much patience and understanding is required.)  I live over 3 hours away and needed to rely on the staff to keep me up to date.  Everyone went above and beyond to communicate with me whether I was there or had to call from a distance.  You are all extremely compassionate and caring."

From the brother of a Masonicare at Home client:

"The process of implementing the service was seamless.  The in-home caregivers were incredibly responsive and helpful.  They were all creative in their caregiving approach, being very mindful of my brother's needs and limitations.  They kept us apprised of any changes or needs on a regular basis.  I can't thank them enough for the care they provided for him and the peace of mind they provided for his family.  The service was just wonderful!"

From a Masonicare Home Health patient and his wife:

"We hit the lottery when we chose Masonicare.  Our home health aide was the consummate caregiver, always a smile, always concerned about our well-being.  The therapists were instrumental to make daily functions possible again, and were so good at including us as part of the team.  This team attitude was responsible for the results for which we are very grateful.  They became like extended family.  We would not hesitate to recommend Masonicare."

From the husband of a patient who received care at our Geriatric Psychiatric Hospital:

"I am writing to complement and recognize your staff for exemplary care and compassion.  Your staff restored my wife to some normalcy and enabled her to return to her assisted living community, where she is doing well.  Everyone could not have been more gracious and caring and you have my lifetime gratitude."

From the daughter of a Hospice patient:

"My mother spent her final three months at Masonicare Health Center, and also received services from Masonicare Hospice.  It was wonderful that she did not have to go someplace else for hospice care– it came right to her.  I think of how kind all the Healthcare Center and Hospice staff were to her -- the doctors, the nurses, and the CNAs.  I would go to visit my mom and notice that she'd had a manicure, or that someone had done her hair.  I could not be more thankful.  I support The Masonic Charity Foundation because Masonicare just does it right!"

From the son of a late resident:

"Everyone mirrored what I believe is a MASONICARE ATTITUDE … not only caring but being mindful of the client's dignity and respectful of family members.  My mom truly enjoyed her tenure at Masonicare.  Bingo, pokeno, Tuesday night music, summer concerts, foliage trips, weekly mass, the hairdresser, and so much more … Her final years were full and happy."
