Spending Holiday Time with Aging Loved Ones
Tips to assess their overall well-being this holiday season
There's no time quite like the holidays. It's the time of year to reflect on life and family as we go "over the river and through the woods" looking forward to those bear hugs and a traditional dinner. Sometimes, however, the trip can be an eye opener after spending time with aging parents.
Are you noticing changes since you were last together? And when should you be concerned? We all want our parents to be safe. And we want them to have a good lifestyle. They spent years taking care of us and we want to make sure we do the same for them.
Masonicare has helpful tips (see links below video) you can use during the holidays to assess the well-being of your parents and other aging relatives.
If you notice these changing signs, maybe it's time to skillfully start a conversation about getting some in-home support or looking at assisted living communities.
