Which type of care is right for my loved one?
Palliative Care:
Palliative Care is an option for people with serious health conditions who are still receiving curative treatment. Our palliative team focuses on relieving the symptoms and stress of progressive illness so that patients and family members can enjoy a higher quality of life. Patients may pursue curative treatment and palliative care can help ease side effects. Palliative care can be provided in a patient or family member’s home or an assisted living facility.
Hospice Care:
Hospice is a philosophy of care with a holistic approach that encompasses mind, body and spirit. Masonicare’s Hospice Program supports the needs of people with life-limiting conditions and the family members who care for them. Hospice services can be provided in a patient or family member’s home, nursing home, or assisted living facility. If symptoms require 24-hour skilled care, inpatient hospice can be provided in community hospitals or Masonicare’s Senior Care Hospital in Wallingford.
Masonicare also provides complimentary services to our hospice patients, such as expressive arts and music, massage, and the “Comfort Creatures” pet program. Our team is also dedicated to meeting the unique needs of veterans at end-of-life through our Vet-to-Vet volunteer program and our “We Honor Veterans” program.
