For close to a decade, The Sisters’ Project has graciously supported Masonicare’s Inpatient Hospice Services on the Acute Care Unit, providing hospice patients and their loved ones with increased comfort at a time when they need it most. This fall, the Sisters made a generous donation to The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut to furnish the new lounge on Masonicare Health Center’s 3 Central long-term care hospice area, identified to provide a private, serene space for residents and their families during end-of-life care.

The Sisters’ Project is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by a group of women in Wallingford committed to raising funds in support of cancer patients and their families. Since 2011, Masonicare has been a major beneficiary of the group’s fundraising efforts.

“The Sisters' Project is proud to help furnish the new family lounge at Masonicare Health Center. The creation of this peaceful haven allows us to continue our mission to bring tranquility to cancer patients and their families in our community,” said Sisters’ Project President, Judi Gallagher. “Masonicare's new hospice care area will ensure that patients requiring palliative and longer term care are offered a nurturing environment with their loved ones, as they navigate through the poignant journey of hospice. We are honored to partner with Masonicare as they continue to respond to patient needs and enhance their hospice care.”

In addition to supporting hospice services, this year’s donation will supply embroidered blankets to comfort and warm patients and their families and provide continued coffee and snack service for both the Acute Care Medical Unit and the 3 Central long-term care hospice area.

“We are so grateful for the continued generosity of The Sisters’ Project,” said Jennifer King, Executive Director of The Masonic Charity Foundation. “Their excellent support over the years has truly helped to create a peaceful and homelike environment for Masonicare’s hospice patients and their families cared for in our Wallingford facility.”
