Volunteers wanted for dementia pilot program in Wallingford

Masonicare's ECHO program and The Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut are teaming up to offer a unique pilot program that aims to find proven ways to reduce falls and improve the quality of life in residents with dementia.

Masonicare Health Center is seeking volunteers(teens and adults) for this program. A six month commitment of 2 to 4 hours per week from 3 to 5 p.m. (although other time periods and weekends may also be available) from March to August, is required. An 8-hour free dementia-specific education is offered. Volunteers will be paired one-to-one with residents with dementia to interact and provide meaningful engagement.
