Masonicare at Ashlar Village Residents’ Scholarship Fund Helps 12 Students Pursue Higher Education

The sixteenth annual Masonicare at Ashlar Village Residents’ Scholarship Fund awards were recently announced by Masonicare at Ashlar Village, Masonicare’s Continuing Care Retirement Community on Cheshire Road in Wallingford.

This year, twelve young men and women were awarded a total of $23,700 in scholarship funds to help them further their education. The young men and women receiving scholarships this year are Rebecca Day-Reynolds, Britney Diakpieng, Faith Danner, Stephen Fengler, Ethan Fiske, Kyle Fitzgerald, Zachary Horobin, Jenna McCarthy, Aaron Mino, Mary Naccarato, Jacob Oliano, and Elizabeth Stefanski.

Masonicare at Ashlar Village residents established the Scholarship Fund in 2004 to provide educational scholarships for young people who either work at Ashlar Village or are children of employees. The funds are raised in a variety of ways, but mainly through the sale of unique, handmade craft and clothing items in the Ashlar Village Specialty shop. The items are made by residents of Ashlar Village, and the Specialty Shop is manned and stocked solely by resident volunteers.
