Benefits of Meditation & Relaxation, Lunch & Learn | Healthcare

On Thursday, April 16, at 11:30 a.m., at Masonicare at Newtown, Jennifer King, Executive Director of The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut, will present a program entitled “The Many Benefits of Meditation and Relaxation.”

In this informative presentation, participants will learn how a regular mindfulness meditation practice can enhance your personal well-being, enrich your relationships with others and improve your outlook on life. Ms. King will explore the numerous benefits of meditation and conclude the program with a group-guided mindfulness meditation. No previous meditation experience is required.

Ms. King has been a devoted yoga and meditation practitioner for eleven years, and has been a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance for five years. She earned her 200 hour teacher certification with Yogaspirit Studios in Hamilton, MA, and is also a certified Silver Age Yoga instructor and Qigong Practice Leader with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. Ms. King completed her professional training in Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors at Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and is currently completing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training with the UMass Medical School Center for Mindfulness.

The free program will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by a complimentary lunch. Reservations are required, so please call the Masonicare HelpLine at 888-679-9997 by Friday, April 10, to reserve your space.

The presentation will be held at Masonicare at Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road, Newtown.
