As the new year begins, I would like to share something to remind us of the impact our work has on others.
I often receive letters expressing appreciation for the care someone
received from a Masonicare affiliate. Just before Christmas I received
two letters on the same day that were particularly noteworthy. One was
from a daughter expressing appreciation for the excellent hospice care
her father had received from Masonicare Home Health & Hospice. In
particular, she expressed appreciation for the seamless transition from
hospital to home that our hospice team gave the family.
The second letter was from the wife of a patient at Masonicare at
Newtown. Our Newtown facility was the fourth nursing home her husband
had been in. She wrote that the care and attention being given her
husband was wonderful – and far superior to their previous experiences.
These compliments go a long way to defining the culture at
Masonicare. A memorable patient and family experience is at the center
of everything we do. What distinguishes us is the exceptional caring
nature in which our staff handles their roles. Every patient and family
encounter should reflect the dignity and caring we would give our own
mother, father or grandparent.
