Wallingford, CT, May 23, 2012………Masonicare will host a free Community Health Fair on Saturday, June 9 from 11 am to 2 pm in Masonicare’s on-campus Medical Office Building. The Health Fair will be held in conjunction with the annual Grand Masters Day, held every June on the Masonicare campus just off Route 150 inWallingford.
Free blood pressure, body mass index and balance and podiatry screenings will be available. Informative presentations by Masonicare doctors and therapists will explore a variety of timely health and wellness topics:
11 a.m. Congestive Heart Failure: What You Need to Know - Dr. Ronald Schwartz
11:45 a.m. Coping in a World of Change - Dr. Richard Kull, Psychiatrist
12:30 p.m. Your Balance and How to Remain Safe – Anne Hennessey, Physical Therapist
1:00 p.m. How to Snack the Healthy Way – Jenny Starr, Registered Dietitian
As an added bonus, every person who visits the Health Fair will receive a coupon for a complimentary lunch under the main tent and will be eligible to win a raffle prize.
In addition to the Health Fair, a wide variety of exciting activities for all ages will be available from 10 am to 3 pm, including a lively and colorful parade that kicks off at 10:30 am, the 14-piece swing band Tuxedo Junction from 1:30 pm to 3 pm, and free children’s rides and games, horse and carriage rides, summertime food and more available throughout the day.
