Wallingford, CT, March 19, 2013……. Dr. Ronald Schwartz, Masonicare Health Center’ s Medical Director and Dr. Gail Labadia, a physician with Masonicare Primary Care Physicians, practicing at the Health Center, were recently certified for Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS.)

ABMS is a not-for-profit organization that assists medical specialty boards in the development and use of standards in the ongoing evaluation and certification of physicians.  Recognized as the “gold standard” in physician certification, believes higher standards for physicians means better care for patients. Certification involves a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation designed and administered by specialists in hospice and palliative care.

Masonicare provides compassionate hospice and palliative care to patients in the dedicated Hospice Unit at Masonicare Health Center, at Masonicare at Newtown, and statewide to patients in their homes and in healthcare facilities through Masonicare Home Health & Hospice and Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice.
