Masonicare Announces Executive Promotions

Masonicare is pleased to announce the following executive promotions:

Jon-Paul Venoit has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer

Tracey LeMay has been promoted to Chief Administrative Officer

Hilde Sager has been promoted to Executive Director of Residential Services.

The announcement was made by Masonicare President and CEO, Stephen B. McPherson, who noted, “In light of our growing presence in the state, as well as trends in healthcare delivery, these moves make great sense. They align with our strategic plan, which is designed to ensure Masonicare remains a dynamic industry leader. Jon-Paul, Tracey and Hilde bring tremendous talent to both our core and emerging businesses, and their promotions are truly well-deserved.”

Jon-Paul Venoit joined Masonicare as a waiter while in high school. After graduating from University of Hartford with a degree in Business and Finance, he moved into positions of increasing responsibility at Ashlar Village, Masonicare’s continuing care retirement community. In 2001, he was given responsibility for all of Ashlar Village where, in 2004, he took on oversight of a multi-year, multi-million dollar expansion of the community. Mr. Venoit was promoted in 2012 to the position of Senior Vice President of Residential Living and Community-based Services, with responsibility for all of Masonicare’s retirement communities, home care services, technology, corporate learning and human resources.

Through the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA, now LeadingAge), he earned his Certified Aging Services Professional license in 2003 from the University of Texas. In 2007, he earned his AAHSA Fellow certificate from its prestigious program for emerging leaders in the senior housing and healthcare field. He was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Wallingford Education Foundation in 2009. In December 2010, he received the Connecticut Assisted Living Association’s Distinguished Service Award. As COO, he will have responsibility for Masonicare Health Center and Masonicare at Newtown in addition to his responsibilities for Masonicare at Ashlar Village, Masonicare Home Health & Hospice and strategic business initiatives. It was also announced that the areas of sales and marketing will report to him.

A past chairman of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Venoit is on Wallingford’s Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Ethics Committee. He is currently the Chairman of the Wallingford Education Foundation, a surveyor for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities / Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, and Chairman of the Connecticut Assisted Living Association. A member of the Young Presidents Organization, Mr. Venoit is a mentor for Junior Achievement and coaches for Yalesville Little League. He and his wife, Christine, reside in Wallingford with their two sons.

Tracey LeMay, BSN, joined Masonicare in the Risk Management area in 2004 and was promoted to Director of Risk Management in 2005. In 2011, she was promoted to Vice President of Legal Services, Compliance and Risk Management with oversight for all of Masonicare’s risk management, legal services and corporate compliance activities, including policies and procedures, Workers’ Compensation and various insurance programs. As Chief Administrative Officer for Masonicare, Ms. LeMay will assume the additional responsibility of the Human Resources and Information Technology departments.

Ms. LeMay earned her B.S. degree in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University. She has extensive experience in managing professional and general liability claims for several acute care hospitals and long-term care facilities. Ms. LeMay is a member and past president of the Connecticut Society for Healthcare Risk Management (CSHRM), serves on the Parent Activity Committee of Masonicare’s Child Development Center, and is involved with the West Haven Adult Daycare Auxiliary. Ms. LeMay and her husband, Randy, reside with their two children in Northford.

Hilde Sager, Executive Director of Masonicare at Ashlar Village, will become Masonicare’s Executive Director of Residential Services. In this capacity, she will assume oversight of Masonicare at Home, which provides non-skilled care and other supportive services in the home, and Masonicare at Mystic, a new 179-unit retirement community the organization is about to break ground for. Ms. Sager will continue to have day-to-day oversight of Masonicare at Ashlar Village as well as the over-55 rental apartments at Masonicare Health Center and the assisted living community at Masonicare at Newtown, known as Lockwood Lodge.

Ms. Sager joined Masonicare in 2004 in the Ashlar Village Marketing Department, becoming Marketing Director in 2007 and Assistant Administrator in 2011. Last year she was named its Executive Director. She has her B.A. from North Park University in Chicago and graduated from the inaugural Leadership Academy class of LeadingAge CT in 2013. She currently serves on the board of the Midstate Chamber of Commerce and is a recipient of the Athena Award from the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Sager is an active member of Bethany Covenant Church of Berlin, where she has served in a variety of leadership roles and is currently on the Youth Education and Discipleship Ministry team.She and her husband, Douglas, have two grown children and reside in Southington.
