East Hartford, CT, June 12, 2013…….In celebration of National Volunteer Week , Masonicare honored hundreds of community volunteers who cumulatively contributed thousands of volunteer hours to the hospice program during the past year. Awards were presented at special recognition events held at several offices throughout Connecticut.
Staff and volunteers of the East Hartford office of Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice gathered recently to celebrate their hospice volunteers and thank them for the care and dedication they bring to patients and the hospice team. Mr. William Webb, a resident of Wethersfield, received the highly regarded Dedicated to Outstanding Volunteer Excellence (D.O.V.E.) award. The office gives the D.O.V.E. award yearly to a volunteer who exhibits exceptional dedication to the program and exemplifies the true spirit of hospice care. John Roush, volunteer coordinator for the East Hartford office, praised Mr. Webb for his dedication and commitment to the hospice program.
“Bill began volunteering with us a year ago as a direct care volunteer and has become an integral part of our hospice team. He is always willing to help out whenever we ask and wherever he’s needed, even doing vigil volunteering at homes and facilities that are not in his regular coverage area. Bill is a great and amazing person, and his commitment and dedication to our hospice program is truly admirable. It’s an honor and a privilege to present him with this year’s D.O.V.E. award.”
