Therapeutic Recreation - Dementia

Provides a variety of recreation programs and services to patients in order that social, physical, psychological, and cognitive function be maximized and a desirable quality of leisure life be attained.
Creates individualized treatment plans which are age and culturally relevant and address the patient/residents social, emotional, physical, psychological and cognitive status for resident/patients. Plans and implements small group activities, trips, special events and entertainment. Motivates resident and patients for participation. Evaluates assigned patients and attends and participates in patient treatment plans including specific short and long term goals and activities, reevaluates and modified plans as necessary. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical treatment.
