Skilled Nursing Care

Every year, thousands of Connecticut residents count on the outstanding skilled nursing care services from Masonicare to help them recover from an illness or injury, or deal with a chronic illness. Provided by dedicated caregivers, this quality, expert care is offered on an inpatient basis at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford and Masonicare at Newtown in Newtown. We also offer skilled nursing care at home through Masonicare Home Health. So whatever your needs, whereever you live in Connecticut, you can have the benefit of our fully accredited skilled nursing care for you or someone you love.

What is skilled nursing?

“Skilled nursing” is a Medicare term for patients whose condition requires “licensed” care.  At Masonicare Health Center and Masonicare at Newtown, we provide both short-term (e.g. post-operative) and long-term (e.g. chronic illness and dementia) skilled nursing.  We’re proud of our reputation for high quality care provided by professionally licensed, experienced nurses and certified nursing assistants (also known as CNAs).  As important, you’ll find our staff to be compassionate, and the patient environment to be comfortable, secure and nurturing.  We are dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole person – physical, psychosocial and spiritual.  We also offer skilled nursing, hospice and palliative care in the home through Masonicare Home Health.

Whom we help:

Any Connecticut resident who has a chronic or acute illness or injury and requires a skilled level of care. For more information on inpatient skilled nursing, please see long-term care services. For more information on skilled nursing care at home, please see home care and hospice care.

What to expect:

In our inpatient facilities, patients receive 24-hour, round-the-clock care from RNs and LPNs. A plan of care is developed with the patient and their family and continually updated to reflect the patient’s care needs.

The Masonicare difference:

With over 100 years’ tradition of caring for older adults, Masonicare offers an array of skilled nursing care services to the greatest number of Connecticut residents.
