The aging process may bring medical conditions that can affect quality of life. A geriatric assessment is a unique, comprehensive evaluation by experienced healthcare professionals. It addresses medical, physical, psychosocial and functional issues, and focuses on minimizing health risks and strengthening functional capacity. Assessments are usually covered by Medicare and secondary insurance plans, and no referral is necessary.
A geriatric assessment is an outpatient appointment, which usually takes approximately one and a half to two hours. After the assessment is completed, a care plan is provided that will include suggestions and recommendations on how the highest quality of life can be achieved.
We’re experienced geriatric specialists, with a complete appreciation of all the challenges seniors may face. So, more than just a medical exam, our assessment offers a wealth of practical approaches to restore vitality—coping skills, problem solving, care planning and assesses medically reversible issues to enhance quality of life along with community referrals for services.
